Exotic butterflies
from the tropics

They come in all shapes and sizes and are at home everywhere in the world – butterflies. Year after year, caterpillars emerge from their cocoons and tun into beautiful butterflies with dazzling colours. Butterfly species found in Central and South America are especially worth protecting. These unique butterflies now also adorn the NewWave Caffè mugs.

The beautiful one

The Morpho cypris from Columbia lives up to its name. Morpho means beautiful as the dazzling blue wings really come into their own when light shines onto them.

The magnificent one

The Cuban butterfly Phoebis avellaneda, whose name pays homage to the writer Avellaneda, shines in shades of deep yellow and red.

The noble one

The rare Fountainea nobilis peralta from Costa Rica with red and black wings can easily hide in the foliage – thanks to the brown camouflage on its underside.

The secretive one

The Theritas mavors from Brazil only opens its brown wings in flight. The closed green underside provides good camouflage in foliage.

Brightly coloured, detailed fish designs on high-quality porcelain.

The stylish cups show four species of tropical fish native to the Great Barrier Reef. Brightly coloured clownfish, surgeonfish, triggerfish and Moorish idols dart over the finest porcelain. These elegant and exotic underwater creatures will be a real feature on your coffee table. The NewWave Caffè Animals of the World collection sets the scene for harmonious and atmospheric tea breaks.

Patterns of Great Barrier Reef
fish add an exotic touch to
relaxing moments

Located off the coast of Australia, the 2,600 km Great Barrier Reef is the biggest coral reef in the world. The colourful fish that inhabit these waters create a fascinating underwater kaleidoscope.

The anemone fish

The anemone fish, or clownfish, lives in the Indo-Pacific and has distinctive white and orange markings. Pacific anemone offer it protection.

The blue surgeonfish

The surgeonfish defends itself with the blade-like tip of its tail. This industrious swimmer is at home in the waters of the Great Barrier Reef.

The triggerfish

The triggerfish can grow up to one metre in length. Divers have particular respect for these graceful underwater creatures.

The Moorish idol

The pointed-mouthed Moorish idol is a traditional species in the waters of the coral reef. This colourful fish lives at a depth of around 180 metres.

The bird decors

The NewWave Caffè Animals of the World collection starts 2015 with 4 wonderful decors with rare water birds. Let yourself be fascinated: By the small kingfisher, which lives by clear lakes. By the colourful bee-eater, which is drawn to the rivers and lakes of Africa. By the flamingo, which flounces through salt lakes. Or by the brown-throated conure, which feels at home in the tropical rain forest.
